Day #9 Duct Tape Wallet

So earlier this week I helped my cousin make a duct tape wallet for school. It was a little more difficult than I thought. Anyway, I thought it was enough of a challenge that I would make my own for TAD. I don’t know what I am going to do with it now that it is done, but it is made.

Day # 7 Magic Wand

So today I came up with something that wasn’t “cooking”. I made myself a magic wand. It took a lot longer than I anticipated. As a matter of fact it is still drying right now, but it looks pretty cool. I am happy with it. I might even have to take it to work and show it off.

Day #2 Flask Customization

Today’s thing was a little flask customization. I got this plain black flask at Christmas time and I wanted to “snaz” it up a little. So I found a little verbage that I liked, fired up the vinyl cutter, and added some coppery gold lettering for the of it.

#29 Bleached T-shirts

I will admit, I am a little disappointed with my end. It didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to. This is my second attempt bleaching t-shirts, I guess I still have a lot to learn. Just because February is ending doesn’t mean I have to stop, so I will have try a 3rd time. All and all my mom and I have had a lot of fun this year. Everyone has been wonderful (as usual) and I am happy that Thing-A-Day moved back to WordPress. I have seen an amazing amount of creative things and it is inspiring. Hope to see you all again next year :) Stay creative! -Amber

#28 Zipper Flower

Once again, this is Pinterest inspired. A flower made out of a zipper. I am not sure what I am going to do with it yet, but I think it would make a cute gift topper.

#27 Pinback Buttons

Pinback buttons are always my safe fall back :) I am happy it has taken me this long to do one. I read this phrase a while back and thought they were good words to live by. So, why not put them on a pin.

#26 Button Letter

I should have thought about this one a little harder. By the last 2 dozen buttons I was ready to quit. But as with many of my projects this was a pinterest inspiration. I printed off a large “Times” letter A and traced it onto a 12 x 12 canvas (that I previously dry brushed a with a little gold paint) and then filled it in with green buttons. I didn’t have quite enough so I used some white buttons too(which was a mistake against a white canvas). And then after I was satisfied with the locations of the buttons I pulled out the hot glue gun and started gluing…

#25 Shiny

This was a fun quick project. More fun glass from the craft store, some Pledge floor wax and a bit of glitter. Fill your glass with a bit of floor wax, swish it around a bit to coat the entire inside of the glass then pour the excess out. I would let it set for just a minute to let the foam settle and make sure that all the excess is poured out. Then take your glitter and pour a bunch into the glass container. Swish the glitter around so it coats the entire inside of the glass and dump out the excess. And voila, pretty, shiny, glittery glass.

#23 Red Glass

I found a really nice red bottle at the craft store about 2 weeks ago. I decided to spice it up with a little vinyl. I added some black retro circles. I had some trouble getting them to lay flat so I will probably have to do this one again, but I think it still looks okay.

#20 Calorie Free Cupcake

My mom and I were shopping last week at the craft store and we saw the cutest little paper cupcakes. A little internet research gave us a good starting point, but we have worked all week trying to figure out the finer points. This is what we have so far. I am not posting a template or instructions because they just aren’t quite there yet.

#18 Gift Box

In my search for paper to make a birthday card, I found this really cute paper that I thought we be good pretty up a box with. So I some cutting and snipping and a bit of Modge Podge and I think turned this plain white jewelry gift box into a cute card holder box, “For You”.

#16 Discretionary Funds

I folded a five pointed modular star out of my budgeted weekly money. It makes it harder to spend :)

#12 Cake Plate

This was a super easy one, and can I just say that E6000 is my new best friend. I found a cute square bowl and nice square plate and glued them together using E6000 to make this cake plate. If I had been smart I would have done some etching on it first. Maybe, I will do some to it later.

Another resin necklace charm. This one was made with just paper, a washer, some jewelry cord, and of course resin.
