When I go online shopping I assume that the prices (for the most part) are going to be the same in-store as the are online. The 5-20 bucks I pay for shipping is also paying for the convenience of not having to go to the store and pick it up.
So it irks me to no end to see a price online and go to a store and not find the same price their. Barnes and Noble is notorious for this. When you ask a sales associate about this they give you a very forth right and honest, "You don't have to pay for shipping-that is why the price is higher in the store." Which logically and rationally does make sense.
But what about the gas it cost me and the time it took me to get there, and look for it. Give a person a break for crying out loud. Keep things consistent, and try to stay competitive.
I understand the rational behind it, but as a consumer I find it aggravating. I have felt screwed by BN for the last time. I am finding somewhere else to buy my books from now on.
