I like to think that I have out grown my PC/Mac bias. So I feel fairly objective in saying that I don't like the new shuffle at all. I hope the 2nd gen shuffles don't disappear completely.
Don't get me wrong, the 3rd gen has a lot of good features like:
playlist organization
voice over announcements
ultra small design (half the size of 2nd gen)
But the down sides:
You have to memorize clicks to know how to navigate it.
The voice over, if you sync to a PC, is rather grating
and what I hate the most:
The controls for the shuffle are on the ear bud cord.
How much is it going to cost to replace those head phones (and you know you'll have to replace them)?
What if I don't like ear buds, I have an amazing set of head phones already I like to use.
So I guess I need to run out and buy another second gen and hide it in the back of the closet, so that I will have it when I need it.

ooo... I have a 2nd Gen Shuffle I don't use... but I think I'd prefer it over this new one.
