Okay maybe semi-homemade hooch. I saw this on Pinterest, candy flavored vodka. It’s simple, put your favorite sugar based candy in a mason jar, fill it up with vodka, and let the candy dissolve. These jars have set for 2 days, working left to right: Spring Cherries (not dissolved yet), Wildberry Skittles, Tropical Starbursts, and Cinnamon Jelly Hearts (not dissolved yet). I added some pretty paper to the tops today.
Honestly, this project didn’t turn out well. I am not a vodka drinker in general, but I thought it I could make it taste a little more like candy I might enjoy it. That was not the case. I have tasted all of these. The Skittles and the Spring Cherries tasted a lot like cough syrup, bad cough syrup, the Skittles more than the Cherries surprisingly enough. The Starburst vodka had a hint of coconut but really just had a sugary taste. The Cinnamon was by far the best, but still had a horrible after taste. I wouldn’t do this again.
